:: RESEARCH AND CREATION IN THE ATELIER ::

ANALYSIS | REVERSE ENGINEERING

“Large Context Processing Composition” is a developed, highly logical systematic technique of music composition. This system enables composers to study all that can happen in a region of time and control each and every of them. The composer takes control of everything that exists in a piece of music whether deterministic or indeterministic.
LCPC Compositional analysis of great composers' masterpieces is not explaining what he/she was experiencing in the writing time. It focuses to find how does that piece of music works. A reverse engineering like approach to discover more of the masters' art.

:: ATELIER'S PHILOSPHY ::

The art and science of designing sound structures. As the structural and technical complexity of musical composition increases, architectural approach to music starts to become more multi-disciplinary.
No music composition can begin until a sufficient level of detail has been reached in the structure.

In the classes, students are expected to use reasoning more often than any other music education system. In Atelier of Electronic Audio Arts, a composition student have an admittance to compositional methods which rely on deductive reasoning.

:: ATELIER'S STUDIO : THE OBJECTIVE NEURON ::

Deep understanding of the audio fundamentals, computer equipment, important signal routing/patching and studio techniques is necessary for any 21st century sound artist. The knowledge of digital and electronic instruments is the integral part of the creative process and in some ways similar to orchestration. Knowledge of signal path, metering, real and virtual patchbays, using digital signal processors are the key to better presentation of an artistic idea.

:: COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY ::
INTERSECTIONS BETWEEN TECH AND ART

MIDI language enables us to control instruments and other machines. MIDI lets synthesizers and samplers being played by a DAW. Interactive object-oriented software, visual programming languages or diagrammatic programming and digital media studio are possible because of computer technology. Students shall learn about industry-standard audio applications, internal workings of the computer and the techniques to interface the machine with audio software and external devices.

Learning and understanding audio programming languages is required and indispensable for a computer musician. Working with these languages opens new horizons for acoustic research, algorithmic music, artistic expression and interactive arts.
