In today's art, beside contemporary techniques of composition and timbral listening, sound is also an important element in relation to other art forms, such as sculpture, installation art, photography, architecture, performance art, environmental art.
In sound installation art, the artist uses techniques and actions to represent time and space in an organized fashion. Sometimes contemporary practices in sound art are complex artistic works while at the same time they demand technical knowledge, so the course analyses artistic and scientific approaches of the sound arts and the related creative technologies.
Lectures explore the aesthetics, semantics and the science of acoustics through the study of sound installation art and cover the theories, technology, physics and histories from creative and technical points of view, as well as influence of interdisciplinary paradigms.
